Welcome to our website!
Miami AIDS Project –MAP- is a non-profit 501(c) 3 community-based minority-oriented HIV/AIDS initiative.
MAP’s mission is to foster sustainable solutions that contribute to the well-being of communities affected by the
HIV/AIDS and Substance Abuse diseases.
Founded in 2008 by a diverse team of committed community leaders and healthcare and social science professionals,
MAP is a regional and national leader in providing community-driven solutions that strengthen the capacity of providers
in improving the delivery of quality services and patient outcomes. We collaborate with other organizations to develop,
implement, and evaluate evidence-based practices and promote an informed dialogue to support compassionate HIV/AIDS
and substance abuse policy.
Our team has a combined experience of more than 40 years in HIV/AIDS and substance abuse prevention, care, research,
program evaluation, and capacity building with a focus on improving health outcomes and reducing health disparities. After many
years of active involvement in community and academic work locally and nationally; MAP’s founders identified the need for building
community capacity to better respond to the challenges posed by the two epidemics of HIV/AIDS and substance abuse in South Florida.
